Our project is entitled:
"Mindfulness – stop stressing and start being your best self."
"Mindfulness" is a mind exercise, designed mainly for people who cannot cope with stress and negative emotions.
Mindfulness is a deliberate (i.e. conscious) directing your attention to what you experience at a given moment - here and now (not looking ahead or returning to the past). A person experiences something in a given moment, but he does not think about what it means, he does not think about it, he only calms the emotions and pushes the mind "aside" so that it can focus on the experience of the present moment, so that it can receive and perceive the information reaching it clearly, without emotional charge, not through the filter of previously formed views.
Our project involves implementing mindfulness practices in school education to help students develop holistically. The project aims to create practical tools for students and teachers to promote work solely on concentration and focus on mindfulness and self-acceptance. Project activities will be used in different age groups, adapted additionally to the needs and abilities of children.
Project objectives:
1. Introduction of the term mindfulness.
2. To increase students' self-esteem and self-confidence.
3. To provide practical tools for students and teachers to promote holistic methodology and mindfulness.
4. To enhance key competencies in students, such as critical thinking, creativity, social and emotional skills.
5. To improve students' motivation and show them how to deal with emotions such as worry, stress, and anxiety.
6. To carry out common tasks between pupils and thus help them to become European citizens.
The description of the activities in KA122 Eramus+ project
At the beginning of October, the principal and four teachers from our school flew to the Spanish city of Burgos as part of the project "Mindfulness -stop stressing and start being your best self". Our school has partnered with Colegio Aurelio Gómez Escolar.
During their stay in Spain, the teachers spent the mornings at the school, where they observed classes with students and helped to conduct them. Lessons included relaxation techniques, breathing and sensory exercises. Similar classes will take place in our school over next year.
The afternoon and weekends were devoted to getting to know the Spanish culture and sightseeing. Thanks to the kindness of the hosts, our teachers could see the beautiful cathedral of Burgos, the old town of Salamanca and the most beautiful places in Madrid.
In a trip to Spain, as part of the Erasmus + project, students will be also involved. As part of the project, in spring, students and two tutors will go to Burgos to implement the project's assumptions, learn about Spanish culture, develop language skills and make friends.
We hope that it will be an unforgettable adventure for our students!
Mindfullness workshops!
Another challenge is behind us. Today we dealt with the Mindfulness Technique. In the gymnasium, teachers organized workshops for students of our school.
The children took part in breathing and relaxation exercises. They meditated, learned proper breathing and explored the secrets of the "Mindfullness" method (a way to reduce stress and calm down)
We hope that the introduced project will increase the improvement of concentration among students and in the future will contribute to better academic results.

Spanish Day!
Dressing in the colours of the flag, preparing traditional dishes, posters, describing famous people. These are the things that our school lived today! Wonderful fun and unforgettable opportunity for our students to get to know Spain, their traditions, their food, their architecture, famous people and much more … We want to thank our Spanish friends for the inspiration! For giving us an opportunity to meet them and their fabulous town, Burgos.

Visiting our partner school - College School Aurelio Gomez (Spain, Burgos)
The visit to the partner school College School Aurelio Gomez (Spain, Burgos) began in the early morning hours. At the very beginning, we were surprised by the fact that the students of the Spanish school with their parents waited until 8 am in front of the school for the start of their classes. The second surprise was the lack of breaks between lessons and the lack of bells. The end of classes in a given subject was signalled by music, which determined the time of movement to the next rooms. Students have only one half-hour break during the day. They usually spend it outdoors, regardless of the weather. All classes finish their day at school at 2pm.
We had the opportunity to visit the building, the equipment of which captivated us. The school has a professional auditorium and a radio and television recording studio, as well as sensory, music and relaxation rooms.

Breathing exercises at the gym and making “The bracelets of calmness”
We spent the whole day at school, taking part in classes about concentration techniques and relaxation techniques. We started our training in the gym with breathing exercises aimed at improving attention and cooperation between students. The next part of the workshops concerned relaxation while creating "original bracelets of calmness". The next classes took place in the open air. We learned breathing techniques that help relieve anger, relax, lower blood pressure and stress hormone levels. We intend to include all the learned techniques in everyday school activities here in Poland.

Visiting Real Madrid Stadium and admiring the beautiful architecture of Madrid!
Thanks to the kindness of our Spanish colleagues, we also had the opportunity to visit the capital of Spain, Madrid. We saw the most interesting landmarks there. Such an unforgettable trip!

Visiting Salamanca
As part of the project, the teachers of the College School Aurelio Gomez took us to Salamanca, a beautiful city with a medieval university, which until the eighteenth century competed with universities in Bologna, Oxford or Paris. We also saw the unusual Gothic cathedral and the Plaza Mayor, one of the most beautiful squares in Spain. Our Spanish colleagues took care of us all day, giving us curiosities about this unusual place. Thanks to them, we got to know Spanish culture, art and cuisine. We had the opportunity to compare the education system in our countries, working methods and differences in the functioning of both institutions. We were most impressed by the cathedral. We could admire its interior, as well as climb the tower, from which there was a breathtaking view of the old town.
We were surprised by the story of medical students celebrating passing their final exams in an unusual way. Graduates organized a corrida, during which they killed a bull, and from its powdered blood they made inscriptions on the university building. To do this, they created living towers, climbing enormous heights on their shoulders.

Sensory classes at Colegio Aurelio Gomez Escolar and making “The bottles of calmness”
We started our Monday's classes with exercises testing our senses. We were supposed to put ourselves in the role of blind people and we were blindfolded to explore the world around us. For this purpose, teachers from the partner school prepared stations with sensory exercises. After the training, new challenges awaited for us. We conducted sensory classes with Spanish students, the aim of which was to sharpen the senses, improve motor skills as well as respond to external stimuli. This is an extremely important matter for the harmonious development of the child. We will conduct similar lessons in our school.
We also made "bottles of calmness". Each of us was assigned to a group of students with whom he/she worked. The classes ended with a relaxation story and breathing exercises based on the "PetitBamBou" programme.

Visiting the winery “Marta Mate”
A visit to the winery "Marta Mate" in the heart of the village of Tubilla del Lago went in a very interesting way. We explored the secrets of wine making from the moment the fruit is picked from the vine to the pouring of wine into bottles. The owner of the vineyard in a very interesting way told us about his passion and his vineyards. He took us to his vines, offering us the best of what was – very sweet, sun-ripening fruit. After the stories, we moved on to practical exercises.
The first part of the workshop was devoted to picking fruit, but with some small difficulty. We were supposed to feel like blind people and pick grapes with the help of students. We were given dark face masks and our senses were to be sharpened. Each of us collected a box of fruit. The students of the oldest class were accompanying us as part of the school project. They were to produce wine from the harvested grapes according to the instructions of Gregorio Casado, the Spanish coordinator of the "Erasmus+" project.
After the practical part, we moved on to yoga classes. Our classes took place in a beautiful scenery – the vineyards. Classes were aimed at calming down and controlling breathing.

Our last day!
Saying goodbye to Burgos and our Spanish friends. Thank you Colegio Aurelio Gomez for everything. It was a pleasure to get to know you and spend time with you! You are wonderful people, full of passion!
The last day ... We visited the most beautiful sights in Burgos. One of them was the Cathedral!
But we don't say goodbye, just see you in April!

W dniu dzisiejszym w ramach projektu Erasmus + "Mindfulness – stop stressing and start being your best self.”
uczniowie klasy siódmej, szóstej i czwartej wykonali buteleczki wycieczenia.

W dniu 8 marca 2023r, przeprowadziliśmy w naszej placówce warsztaty pt. „Mindfulness-stop stressing and start being your best self” w ramach realizacji naszego projektu KA122.
